Parasites began to grow at an extremely fast rate. It was decided to decrease the amount of fetal bovine serum in the BHI media that they were growing in. Two new flasks were seeded, one with L. Tarentolae in BHI without FBS, and one with L. Tarentolae in BHI with 1% FBS. By decreasing the amount of fetal bovine serum, it is expected that their growth rate will slow down so we can catch them at a time that is optimal for transfection.
